Air One was founded in 1983 and has continually expanded in its relatively brief history. In 2007, the airline served over 7.5 million passengers with scheduled and charter flights. The company is continuing to expand its fleet over the next few years, with a large number of existing aircraft orders. After the expansion is complete, the fleet will exceed 100 and be among the largest in Europe. Although the airline currently focuses on domestic flights, they also offer international destinations including Brussles, Copenhagen, Athens and London. Even though Air One is generally referred to with English pronunciation, the name has a double entendre, as the same spelling in Italian means heron, which is the airline's official logo.
