Aires Colombia offers flights to around 25 destinations from a central hub in Bogota. The company is the second largest domestic carrier in Colombia. AIRES was founded in 1981 as Aerolíneas de Integración Regional. Until 2008, AIRES focused on being a domestic carrier before the introduction of jet aircraft enabled an expansion of the flight plan. The adoption of a low cost business model had a major impact on air travel in Colombia and neighboring countries and regions. The fleet currently consists of both Boeing jet planes and Bombardier Dash models for shorter distances. The flight network focuses predominantly on domestic centers including Cali, with Medellin and Barranquilla joining Bogota as hub cities.
