Amarillo International Airport (AMA) is situated in Texas, 7 miles out of Amarillo, and deals with about one million passengers a year. In 2003 it was renamed Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport after the native NASA astronaut who died in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster in the same year. Also, with a one night stay, many hotels nearby offer two weeks parking for free along with a shuttle to and from the airport.
• Directions & Transportation: If driving, take the Interstate 40 and exit on Airport Road. A shuttle bus provides a door-to-door service and transportation to the airport from the city. Taxis can be conveniently found outside the terminal.
