The Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) is located in Seawell, Christ Church on the island of Barbados. This small international airport is a major gateway to and from the Eastern Caribbean, serving many direct flights to destinations in the United States, Canada, Central America, South America and Europe. • ATM: There is a bank and a bureaux de change located at the airport.
• Shopping: For shopping, there is a souvenir shop and Duty-free available in the Depatures lounge. Additionally, there is an in-bound Duty-free shop available in the Arrivals lounge, available to in-coming international flights.
• Luggage: For any help with lost luggage, contact the airport's information desk (246) 428 7101) or your airline.
• Airport Hotels: There are no hotels available onsite. However, plenty of hotels and resorts can be found in and around nearby Bridgetown.
• Disabled Travelers: The airport is fully accessible for disabled passengers. Wheelchairs and special assistance is also available to those requiring it. It is best to inform your airline in advance if special assistance is required.
• Parking: The airport has two car parks, both within walking distance of the terminal. There is no distinction between the two car parks. Short-term parking costs BDS$1 per half hour. While a daily maximum rate is capped at BDS$12. Both car parks are guarded around the clock.
• Directions & Transportation: Driving to the airport from Bridgetown, take the ABC Highway. The journey will take around 30 minutes. Another way is the Hwy-7 which runs along the southern coast. For those requiring public transport from the airport, there are easily-recognizable Mercedes Benz buses that run between the airport and Bridgetown. These depart regularly outside on the Main Road outside the terminal building. A fare to Bridgetown will cost BDS$1.50 and take around 45 minutes. There are also taxis readily available outside the terminal. These operate on a fixed-fare basis whereby fares should be agreed on in advance.
