Cape Air is the largest independent regional airline in the USA. It was set up by two pilots and an investor in 1988 and its headquarters are based at Barnstable Municipal Airport in Barnstable, Massachusetts. The airline offers flights to many major holiday destinations in the United States as well as offshore islands such as the Caribbean region. Cape Air began as a small airline and its first flight between Boston and Provincetown, Massachusetts took place in 1989. Since then many more destinations have been added and now flights are scheduled between various cities in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Florida and the islands of the Caribbean and Micronesia, equalling a total of 33 destinations. The airline also has code-shares with Continental Airlines, JetBlue and American Airlines, among others, allowing passengers to take connecting flights to farther destinations. Cape Air offers a system of Discount Ticket Books to frequent flyers, giving customers unrestricted one-way travel to their destinations.
