Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN) is centrally situated in the Cologne/Bonn region of Germany. Its name derives from the fact that it is a gateway to both the city of Cologne and Bonn. Cologne Bonn Airport is currently ranked the sixth biggest airport in the country and deals with over 10 million passengers per annum but has a capacity of 12 million. CGN is functioning 24 hours a day and is made up of two terminals and three runways. Major airlines include Continental, Germanwings, TUIfly and Air Berlin. Car Park 3 is cheaper as it is slightly further from the airport.
• Directions & Transportation: By car, drivers can take a motorway spur from Autobahn A59 and drive up to the terminals as the airport is directly linked to the motorway. Shuttle buses can be taken to Cologne, which takes 20 minutes, and Bonn, which takes 35 minutes. S-Bahn trains provide transportation to the airport. The station is positioned between Terminals 1 and 2. Taxi ranks are outside Terminals 1 and 2 and take 15 minutes to get to the center of Cologne or Bonn.
