Dallas is one of the largest cities in the USA and many visitors are surprised to find such a large, modern Metropolis located in the northeast corner of the "Lone Star State". Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is one of the largest international airports in the US and offers extensive flights abroad, as well as domestically. Dallas is a rapidly growing metropolis area, with the 6th largest population in the USA. The skyline is dominated by the Bank of America Plaza and Renaissance Tower, which are breathtaking sights when viewed from the Trinity River Plain. The city also offers numerous shopping and cultural opportunities, such as "Deep Ellum", a well known, trendy shopping center located near downtown Dallas. Dallas prides itself on its vibrant culinary tradition and there are more restaurants per resident here than in New York City. Of course, every kind of cuisine is available in the city, but the most famous are traditional Texas BBQs, a must for every new visitor. Fort Worth is a large city near Dallas and has become one of the most important financial areas of Texas.

The Lone Star State is the 2nd largest state in the US geographically and in terms of population. Everything in Texas just seems to be larger than life, whether it be the cowboy hats, the food portions or the simply the distances between cities, it is truly a place you have to see to believe. The state is home to a number of universities and colleges of note, including one of the largest in the nation, the University of Texas-Austin.
