• Shopping: Shopping is an important part of the Edinburgh Airport experience – travel essentials are easy to come by, as are souvenirs, gadgets, fine foods and fashion accessories. The duty free section is also not to be missed.
• Luggage: Trollies can be found in the baggage reclaim hall, check-in area, terminal forecourt and car park, and are free of charge. • Airport Hotels: There are a number of hotels both in the city center and closer to the airport. Try the nearby Hilton Edinburgh Airport or the Quality Hotel Edinburgh Airport, or else travel a little closer to town to the Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa or Jurys Inn Edinburgh.
• Disabled Travelers: There are wheelchair accessible toilets located before and after security, and designated disabled parking spaces in both short and long term parking lots.
• Lounges: Silver and gold Diamond Club members flying with bmi or bmibaby can use the bmi Diamond Club Lounge, which is located on the first floor, after security control. First and business class British Airways passengers can use the BA Terraces Lounge, which is also located on the first floor. The Servisair Executive Lounge is open to all passengers.
• Parking: Edinburgh Airport parking includes Long Stay, Short Stay and Fast Track parking. Courtesy coaches run from the Long Stay parking lots and take about five minutes to reach the airport itself. Short stay parking is just a short walk from the terminal, while fast track parking, which costs £26 (almost $40) pounds per day, is only a minute’s walk away.
• Directions & Transportation: There is no shortage of transportation to and from Edinburgh Airport. It normally takes about 25 minutes to reach the city center by taxi. Private airport taxis and city cabs have separate ranks outside the east end of the terminal building. There are also a number of bus services, including the Airlink and a Nightbus, running to and from the airport and city center. There is no direct train link to the airport, as the closest stations are in the city center.
