The Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) started out as a small passenger airport in early 1983. With record-breaking growth, a new and more modern building with state-of-the-art facilities and layout was built and opened in 2005. Since 2007, the airport has catered to an average of 8 million passengers per year arriving from destinations throughout North America and international destinations in Canada and Germany. The airport serves more than 20 airlines such as Air Berlin, Air Canada, Continental and Delta. There are daily non-stop flights to major gateways such as Atlanta, Chicago and New York with connections across the world.

• Eating & Drinking: There are several fast-food chains, cafes and restaurants such as Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts located in the Main Terminal and in the Concourses beyond security checks.
• ATM: There are ATMs abd a bureau de change located in the main terminal.
• WiFi: Free WiFi is accessible throughout the airport. There are also Internet kiosks located in the business center.
• Shopping: There are several shops, mostly gift and books stores as well as The Beaches Travelmart for any Florida necessities.
• Luggage: For items lost in the main terminal and concourse areas of the airport, contact the lost property service on (239) 590 4810).
• Airport Hotels: There are a number of hotels located not onsite but close to the airport. The closest being the Wynstar Inn & Suites. Others include the Best Western Airport Inn, Comfort Suites Airport, Econolodge Airport and the Hampton Inn Fort Myers all of which are located on the I-75/Daniels Parkway interchange. Courtesy shuttles run to and from the hotels. There are also a hotel courtesy phones located near the baggage reclaim area.
• Disabled Travelers: The airport is fully accessible with TDD telephones for the hearing impared, wheelchairs provided on request, and lifts and ramps where necessary. Passangers requiring flight assistance should cotact their airling befor traveling.
• Lounges: There is no lounge at the airport. However, there is a Business center available for any business need.
• Parking: The airport offers both short-term and long-term parking and a cell phone lot for quick pick-ups. The short-term parking is located directly across from the terminal and is free for the first 20 minutes, $3 for the hour and has a $15 daily maximum limit. The long-term parking is located beyond the short-term parking lot and costs $2 per hour, $11 per day and $62 per week. A shuttle is available for transportation from this lot. The cell phone lot is easily accessible from the Terminal Access Road - here, drivers wait in their cars until their party calls and then they can do a quick pick-up on the curbside outside the Terminal entrance near the taxi stands.
• Directions & Transportation: Driving from Fort Myers, take the Ben Hill Griffin Parkway/Treeline Avenue Extension which is east of the I-75 and inbetween Daniels Parkway (Exit 131) and Alice Road (Exit 128). From here, turn east onto the Terminal Access Road. For those needing public transport, there is a bus service called Lee Tran that provides hourly buses to a transfer point at Daniels Parkways where connections can be made to any destinations. Many of the hotels in the area offer a shuttle service to/from the airport. Taxis are also available at the airport with fixed rates defined by zone and not meter.
