Kingfisher Airlines has the largest market share of all Indian airlines. The flight network carries over 1 million passengers a year to around 70 worldwide destinations from major hubs in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai. Kingfisher Airlines was founded in 2003 and is owned by United Breweries Group which also brews the famous Kingfisher beer. Domestic flight operations were launched in 2005 and international flights followed in 2008. Kingfisher Airlines has announced an intention to join the oneworld alliance in 2011, offering a much wider destination network to customers and opening up connections to North America. While the major focus of the flight plan is Indian and Asian destinations, regular service from Delhi to London is available. Major Asian centers including Dubai and Hong Kong can be used to reach the world. The King Club is the frequent flyer program which enables customers to earn points they can redeem against future purchases and benefit from perks including priority check in and access to Kingfisher Lounges found in several Indian airports. Currently the airline is one of only 6 in the world to have been awarded 5 stars by SkyTrax, the independent airline experts.
