Lincoln, Nebraska is the capital city and second largest in the state. Arriving by plane, you can fly into Lincoln Municipal Airport which is around four miles north of the cityﾒs downtown area. The Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery in Lincoln has an assortment of permanent modern art as well as traveling displays for art enthusiasts. The Nebraska State Capitol building also provides some stunning architecture, an example of Art Deco, and it is open to the public with a great view of the entire city from the 14^th floor. Lincoln has many different restaurants to dine at, with an assortment of Tex-Mex and Mexican specialties. There are also plenty of cozy pubs, jazzy bars, and exciting nightclubs in the city. For sports fans, the University of Nebraska has several sporting events throughout the year with football and basketball. Lincoln has a great small town feel, but also plenty of exciting attractions for the whole family to enjoy.

Situated in the Great Plains, Nebraska has a lot of historical sites and beautiful landscapes to experience. In the northwestern part of the state, you can see Pine Ridge with its ancient pine forest. Sand Hills offer some of the largest sand dunes in the world. The Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail also crosses through the state, which takes you back to the dawn of the western expansion in the US.
