Located in the south east of England, London is traversed by the murky depths of the River Thames. The city is such an eclectic amalgamation of cultures that it exudes an energy and passion not found in many other cities. London is served by three main airports, Stansted, Heathrow and Gatwick, all of which deal with international flights and have good train and coach connections to the city. The center of London is a great introduction to its historical heritage: tourists can marvel at Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, watch the changing of the guard outside Buckingham Palace or visit one of the many free museums. However, it is the diversity of the surrounding boroughs which gives London that special edge: from the upper class markets in Notting Hill to the jumble of stalls in Brick Lane, from the manicured Botanic Gardens to the wilds of Hampstead Heath, and from the classy bars in Richmond to the quirky nightlife of Camden.

England is the southernmost country in Great Britain. Similar to London's boroughs, each village and city throughout the country reflect a different aspect of England. However, due to its size and cultural mix, London is not like any other English city. Despite this, it still manages to retain an underlying current of Britishness, manifested in its red, double-decker buses, numerous fish and chip shops and cozy pubs. Although renowned for its bad weather, England has much to offer tourists with its rich history and diverse traditions.
