Melbourne Airport (MEL) is based northeast of Melbourne, Australia. It is also located next to the suburb Tullamarine and its other name is Tullamarine Airport. Melbourne Airport is the second busiest airport in the country, dealing with almost 25 million passengers per annum, and is the main airport out of four to serve the Melbourne area. The airport acts as a hub for Jetstar Airways, Virgin Blue, Tiger Airways Australia and Qantas. The airport is composed of four terminals which deal with domestic and international flights. The route from Melbourne to Sydney is the world’s third most popular air route.

• Eating & Drinking: There are food outlets located in all the terminals, from fast food and cafes to bars and fine dining. These include Nando’s, McDonald’s, PJ O’Brien’s, Subway, Krispy Kreme and Boost Juice.
• ATM: Travelex is located in terminals 2 and 3. An ANZ Bank is situated in the departures area of Terminal 2.
• WiFi: Wireless Internet can be accessed for a fee in terminals 2, 3 and 3 and public spaces. The Internet can be found in the departures area of the International Terminal.
• Shopping: There are a number of options within the airport including Duty Free in Terminal 2. Names include Tie Rack, Virgin Books and Music, World of Chocolate and The Body Shop.

Another hotel, 400 meters from the terminals, is the Holiday Inn Melbourne Airport (03-9933-5111). 600 meters from the airport building is Motel Formule 1 (03-8336-1811) and Mantra Tullamarine (03-9093-6500), which opened in 2009, is just over a mile away. • Disabled Travelers: Toilets are located in terminals 1, 2 and 3 and elevators are positioned throughout the airport. Other facilities include parking and telephones.
• Lounges: Melbourne Airport contains 9 lounges, owned by different airlines. Qantas is in terminal 1 and 2, Virgin Blue and REX are in Terminal 3 and Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore, Air New Zealand/United Airlines and Emirates are in Terminal 2.
• Parking: Short-term parking is located opposite Melbourne Airport, about 100 meters away. It costs $2.60 for the first 20 minutes, $10.50 for up to an hour, $43.85 for a day and $87.70 for 2 days. Long-term parking is situated 400 meters from the airport and a free, 24 hour shuttle bus is available to and from the lots. The cost is $8.70 for the first 3 hours, $25.40 for the first day, $67.50 for the week and $135 for the fortnight.
• Directions & Transportation: By car, the airport can be accessed via the Tullamarine Freeway. The SkyBus operates 24 hours a day, every 10 minutes. An adult one way ticket to downtown Melbourne costs $14 and can be bought at the bus stop. There are also a number of public bus services which provide transportation to the airport. Timetable information is available at the airport information desks. Taxi ranks are situated outside terminals 1, 2 and 3 on the ground level. The charge is between $70 and $75 to Melbourne center.
