Located in the south west corner of the United States, Memphis sits beside the banks of the Mississippi River. Known by many as the birthplace of blues, soul and rock 'n' roll, even a century later the city still exudes this same musical energy and spirit. It is served by Memphis International Airport which is located south of the city and provides flights worldwide. Evidence of Memphis' musical past is still very much present on Beale Street where there is a constant flow of live music and entertainment, and tourists can also take a wander down the Memphis Walk of Fame. Memphis is also where Martin Luther King was assassinated and the Lorraine Motel, where the tragedy occurred, has been converted into the National Civil Rights Museum.

Tennessee is situated south east of the United States and the landscape is a mix of mountainous peaks, perfect for hiking, and lowland plateaus. However, the state primarily represents a fusion of different musical styles from country and gospel to bluegrass and rock ‘n' roll.
