Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), also known as Nairobi International Airport, is located on the edge of Kenya's capital. Named in honor of the first Kenyan prime minister and president, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is the busiest airport in East Africa and ranks sixth in the continent. In 2008, 4.9 Million passengers passed through Nairobi International Airport, one of two international airports in the country. It is the central hub for the national carrier, Kenya Airways and for the low-cost airline Fly540. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport's main terminal is divided into three units: Units 1 and 2 handle departing international flights, while domestic flights operate from Unit 3. Incoming international flights are processed in a central arrivals hall. The units are within easy walking distance of each other.

• Eating & Drinking: Jomo Kenyatta International Airport currently offers a limited range of dining opportunities, including a restaurant on the fifth floor of the terminal building, a café (Java House, close to Gate 14) in unit 1, a pub in unit 2 and a café and snack bar in unit 3 as well as in the international arrivals hall.
• ATM: ATM and bureau de change are available inside the arrivals hall near the taxi, car rental and hotel booking counters.
• WiFi: Free WiFi access is provided throughout the terminal buildings.
• Shopping: Shops are concentrated airside in the departures areas and include souvenir shops, a bookstore, African clothing shops and several duty free shops stocking the leading international brands of liquor, tobacco and perfume. Be sure to keep your receipts for any further security checks.
• Luggage: Baggage carts are located at the baggage claim in the arrivals terminal and throughout the airport and are provided free of charge. Lost property may be located through the general information desk in the baggage handling area.
• Airport Hotels: There are no hotels at the airport. Leading hotels in Nairobi include the Hilton Nairobi Hotel (+254 20 250 000), Grand Regency Hotel (+ 254 20 211 199), Fairview Hotel (+254 20 288 1000), Sarova Stanley (+254 20 316 377) and the Nairobi Serena Hotel (+254 20 282 2000). All are located within 20 minutes of the airport.
• Disabled Travelers: Elevators and basic wheelchair-friendly toilets are available within the terminal, but passengers in need of assistance are advised to contact their airline in advance to ensure a smooth passage through the airport.
• Lounges: Kenya Airways operates its own premier lounge, while passengers traveling with other airlines may have access to a third party lounge. VIP lounge service is currently being expanded, with certain lounges also open to Priority Pass customers. It is advisable to check ahead with your airline or with the airport itself.
• Parking: 900 short term and 100 long term parking spaces are available between the arrivals and departures buildings. Please ask at the airport for rates.
• Directions & Transportation: By road, the main approach from the city is the A 104, also known as the Mombasa Highway, towards Embakasi, following the signs to the airport. No rail service is available. Taxis are available outside the arrivals hall. Licensed cabs should be used and a fixed rate agreed beforehand. A booking desk is located inside the arrivals hall. Costs to central Nairobi may range from KES 1000 to 1500. Public transportation to the airport is provided by buses, which run between 6 am and 9 or 10 pm. City bus No. 34 runs to the city center and stops at certain hotels, including the Hilton.
