Riga International Airport (RIX) is situated southwest of Riga, the capital of Latvia, and, within the Baltic states, it is the biggest airport. RIX deals with about 4 million passengers per year and serves the Riga region. The airport acts as a hub for the airline, airBaltic. It consists of three terminals: terminals A and C are for non-Schengen flights and Terminal B is for Schengen destinations. Flights from the airport travel to many destinations worldwide, popular cities being London, Stockholm and Helsinki. The airport has a magazine, GatewayRiga, which provides information on the airport and other facilities in the area.

• Eating & Drinking: Before security there is Fly Bar, Lido, which is a restaurant and bar, and TGI Friday’s. After check-in are Coffee Nation, the pizzeria Pica LuLu, and the cafes Pascucco, Laima Confectionery Café and BUFFET.
• ATM: There is an ATM located on each level. A Bureau de Change is located before and after check-in both in arrivals and departures.
• WiFi: Wireless Internet at Riga International Airport is provided by Lattelecom. A prepaid card is required to use this service. There is also an Internet café available, Coffe Nation, after security check-in.
• Shopping: Pre-security there are two newsagents, a florist and a pharmacy. Post-security are newsagents and shops selling gifts, toys, travel accessories, jewelry, cosmetics, clocks and Duty Free.
• Luggage: Carts are located throughout the airport. Baggage claim is located on the ground level of the airport. For lost property contact the Airport Police on 6720-7102.
• Airport Hotels: There are no hotels located on site. However, there are a number in the vicinity of Riga International Airport. Best Western Hotel Mara (6770-2718) is one mile away from the airport and Maritime Park Hotel Riga (6706-9000) is located 5 miles away. Others include Reval Hotel Latvija (6777-2222), the four-star Islande Hotel (6760-8000) and Grand Palace Hotel (6704-4000). A free shuttle bus is available to most of the hotels in the area.
• Disabled Travelers: Elevators and adapted toilets are available in Riga International Airport. Other facilities include ramps and wheelchairs on request.

• Parking: Short-term parking, P1, is in front of the airport. This charges $1.80 for the first half an hour then $3.70 for each additional hour followed by a daily maximum of $36.75. Long-term parking is in P2 and P3. P2, 400 meters from the terminal, costs $2.80 per hour for the first 4 hours then a daily maximum of $11. Then, from 2 to 6 days, the rate is $5.50 daily. P3, in front of the Aviation Museum, charges $5.50 daily.
• Directions & Transportation: By car, Riga International Airport can be reached by Route E22 and Highway P133. The number 22 bus provides transportation to the airport. The service, which costs $1.30, leaves every 10 to 30 minutes and takes about half an hour to reach the city center. There is also the Airport Express minibus which costs $5.50 and can be paid for by cash or credit card. Eurolines are also available for destinations further away. Taxis take about 15 minutes to reach the city center and charge 90¢ per kilometer.
