Roanoke Regional Airport (ROA is based north of Roanoke in the state of Virginia. Roanoke Regional Airport deals with nearly one million passengers a year and serves the Roanoke Valley. Airlines which serve the airport include Allegiant Air, Delta Connection, United Express and US Airways Express. It is composed of two runways and one, Y-shaped terminal building over two floors. The airport deals with approximately 60 flights a day to destinations within the United States of America, namely Orlando, St. Petersburg, Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago, Washington, Philadelphia, New York and Charlotte. • Parking: The short-term parking lot is located 300 feet from the terminal building. The first 15 minutes are free, then the charge is $1 up to an hour followed by $1 every hour with a daily maximum of $14. Long-term parking is available in the lot next to short-term parking. The rates are the same as short-term parking except the daily maximum is $7. A free shuttle bus service is available between the airport and the long-term parking lot.
• Directions & Transportation: By car, Roanoke Regional Airport can be reached by Interstate 81 or Route 220/581 North. Smart Way Bus provides transportation to the airport from central Roanoke, Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Virginia Tech and Salem. The service runs from Monday to Saturday and stops at the east end of the terminal building. Another service is provided by Valley Metro although this stops to the east of the main parking area. Taxis can be found outside the terminal.
