John Wayne Airport (SNA) is the only commercial airport in Orange County, California, close to the cities of Santa Ana and Irvine. Originally named simply Orange County Airport, it was named in honor of actor and local resident John Wayne in 1979. The single Thomas F. Riley Terminal building is divided into two sections, Terminals A and B, with some commuter flights operating from temporary buildings during construction work. John Wayne Airport handles approximately 9 million passengers per year, with ten airlines serving 20 destinations in the US and Canada. Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, United Airlines and Alaska Airlines are the airlines operating the bulk of flights in and out of John Wayne Airport.

• Eating & Drinking: A snack bar is located in the ticket counter area. Other restaurants can be found past security and include McDonald's, Starbucks, Brioche Dorée and Gibson Guitar Lounge.
• ATM: ATMs can be found in the baggage claim area, near carousels 1 and 4, and near gates 4 and 11 in the departures area. There is no bureau de change at SNA.

• Directions & Transportation: Access to John Wayne Airport by road is via the San Diego Freeway (I-405), the Costa Mesa Freeway (State Route55) and the Corona Del Mar Freeway/San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor Toll Road (State Route 73). There is no rail service to John Wayne Airport. However, to find buses go to the Ground Transportation Center which is located within walking distance of the baggage claim area, on the lower level of the East Parking Structure. Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) buses #76 and #212 stop here ($1.50 single fare), as well as Irvine Shuttle Route A and the Disneyland Resort Express. Taxis are also available at the Ground Transportation Center, and staff is available to assist customers.
