Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), formerly known as Chiang Kai-shek International Airport, is the main point of entry to the island of Taiwan, and is located about 25 miles southwest of the capital, Taipei. Taiwan International Airport is the main hub for China Airlines and EVA Air. The airport handled over 21.5 million passengers in 2009, making it the country's busiest, and 13th worldwide in terms of international traffic. There are currently two terminals at Taiwan International Airport, which are connected by a short railway. A third terminal is planned.

• Eating & Drinking: A range of Chinese and Western restaurants, fast-food franchises, cafés and bars can be found before and after security, in both terminals.
• ATM: Banks, ATM and currency exchange facilities are located throughout the airport.
• WiFi: Free WiFi internet access is provided, and there are also several free stationary internet points throughout the airport.
• Shopping: Shopping at Taiwan International Airport consists mostly of Duty Free shops, with a few other shops selling gifts, crafts, accessories and travel essentials.
• Luggage: Baggage carts are available throughout the airport, and left-luggage facilities are offered in both terminals. Lost property offices are also located in each terminal and can be reached on +886 (0) 3 398 2538, 9-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m.
• Airport Hotels: The only on-site hotel is the Evergreen Transit Hotel (+886 (0) 3 383 4510), which offers rest facilities for passengers waiting for transfers, and is located on the fourth floor of the Transit Area. The closest full-service hotels are located in Taipei. Reservation counters can be found in the arrivals lobbies.
• Disabled Travelers: The airport's main levels are connected by elevators to provide step-free access to the gates. There is no other information available on facilities for the disabled at Taiwan International Airport. Travelers are advised to contact their airline in order to ensure easy boarding.
• Lounges: Airlines providing lounges for their business and first class passengers include British Airways, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, EVA Air, Singapore airlines and Thai Airlines. The More International Business Centre & Premium Lounge provides conference facilities in both terminals (+886 (0) 3 393 1111 for Terminal 1, 398 3333 for Terminal 2).
• Parking: Parking garages are situated at each terminal. In each, the first 30 minutes are free of charge. After that, prices vary according to the size of the car. Small cars are charged NT$30 for the first hour, NT$20 for each additional half hour, with large cars charged double. The maximum daily rates in Terminal 1 are NT$100 (small) and NT$200 (large - both are promotional rates and may rise). Maximum daily rates in Terminal 2 are NT$490 (small) and NT$980 (large).
• Directions & Transportation: The Sun Yat-sen Freeway connects Taipei to Taiwan International Airport. The driving time to downtown Taipei is about 45 minutes, depending on traffic. High-speed UBUS shuttles connect the terminals with Taoyuan Station, from where a direct high-speed rail service to Taipei operates. The adult fare is NT$30 to Taoyuan Station, and $160 from Taoyuan to Taipei. Tickets can be purchased from counters in the arrivals halls. Several bus companies serve destinations in downtown Taipei, as well as other cities. Ticket counters are located in the arrivals hall, with adult single fares to Taipei ranging from NT$110 to NT$140. Bus stops are located outside each terminal. Taxis are available for hire outside each terminal. An average metered charge to Taipei is NT$1,100.
