Tampa International Airport (TPA) is a major public airport serving the Tampa Bay Metropolitan Area in Florida. Non-stop flights currently connect Tampa to 71 destinations, in the US as well as to Canada, the Caribbean and the UK. Tampa International Airport is a hub for Gulfstream International Airlines (operating as Continental Connection), as well as a focus city for AirTran Airways and Southwest Airlines. In the 1960s, Tampa International Airport was a pioneer in introducing a layout with a single landside terminal, connected to the airsides (gate areas) by automated people movers. Today, there are four airsides, designated A, C, E and F. In 2009, they handled 16,965,545 passengers.

• Shopping: Duty Free shops are located in Airsides E and F. All other areas feature gift shops, newsstands and other retailers.

• Lounges: Airlines providing lounges for their business and first class customers at Tampa International Airport are Delta Air Lines Sky Club (Airside E), British Airways International Club and US Airways Club (both Airside F).
• Parking: A short-term garage, which is connected to the terminal by elevators, is recommended for stays of four hours or less. The first hour is free, with subsequent charges of $1 per 20minutes, rising to a $20 maximum per 24-hour period. A long-stay garage adjacent to the terminal charges the same hourly rates, with a daily maximum of $15. An economy garage and lot are connected to the terminal by shuttles running 24/7. The economy parking rate is $9 per day.
• Directions & Transportation: The airport is connected to downtown Tampa and the Interstate System by State Highway 60 and I-275, from where it is well signposted. From central Tampa, follow Spruce Street or Columbus Drive to the airport. For those who prefer public transport, HARTline Route 30 serves downtown Tampa from the bus stop located at Red baggage reclaim. Fares are S1.75 (local) and $2.75 (express). Transportation to and from the airport is also provided by Yellow Cab (813-253-0121) and United Cab (813-253-2424). The flat rate to downtown Tampa is $25.
