Warsaw is situated in eastern Poland on the banks of the Vistula River. Warsaw is a city which, although it has developed extensively over the last half a century, still retains a respect for its momentous past. The main airport is Frederick Chopin International Airport which deals with European flights. Warsawﾒs Old Town quarter was reconstructed after World War 2 and contains impressive architecture, including the Royal Castle and King Zygmuntﾒs Column. Continuing further south visitors can follow the Royal Route and admire the selection of classicist palaces. Jewish history is very apparent throughout Warsaw, however it is not only reflected in commemorative structures, like the Monument to Ghetto Heroes and the Little Insurgent, but also in the Jewish theater and the charming Prozna Street. Away from its adverse past, Warsaw was the birthplace of Marie Curie and also Chopin whose monument is in the Royal Baths Park where, in summer, pianists provide concerts.
