Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is located in Dulles, Virginia, west of Washington DC. Dulles handles approximately 25 million passengers per year and serves the greater metropolitan region. The airport acts as a hub for United Airlines which accounts for just over 60% of the passengers. It consists of one main terminal building, two midfield terminals and four runways. The name derives from John Foster Dulles who was the United States Secretary when Dwight D. Eisenhower was in power. • Parking: Short-term parking is opposite the terminal building. The rates are $4 hourly with a $36 maximum. Both long-term parking lots are connected to the airport. • Directions & Transportation: By car, Washington Dulles can be reached by the I-95 then exit 27 or the I-66 then exit 67. The Metrobus route 5A provides transportation to the airport. The stop is outside the arrivals area at 2E. A coach leaves every half an hour to the Metrorail which runs to central Washington DC as well as other destinations in the vicinity.
