Wichita is the largest city in Kansas, and is about three hours by car from Kansas City. Flying into Wichita Mid-Continent Airport puts you only five miles west of the city center, and hopping on a bus will get you to your final destination. This city has the Sedgwick County Zoo, the largest zoo in the state, and one of the largest in the country with several hundreds of different species to see. While in Wichita, visit the Old Town located in downtown to find tons of shops, places to eat, and bars all conveniently accessible by foot. This region also has a few interesting museums, including Museum of World Treasures and the Great Plains Transportation Museum. Stop by the Donut Whole at any time, day or night, for some delicious donuts and sometimes live music. This quaint city has a lot of personality and a trip to the nearby Flint Hills will convince you of this right away.

Kansas is full of interesting cities, including Liberal which is home to the recreated house of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz story. Lawrence, Kansas has a strong art scene and many bars to visit thanks in part to the University of Kansas in the city. The Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail also cuts through the state, offering a glimpse into these pioneersﾒ travels as the Corps of Discovery. Several places in Kansas are reminiscent of the Great American West, and one need not to look to hard to find these historically relevant spots.
